1. Boil the Eggs: Place the eggs in a saucepan and cover them with cold water. Bring the water to a boil, then remove from heat, cover the pan, and let the eggs sit for 10-12 minutes.
2. Cool and Peel: Rinse the eggs under cold water until they are cool enough to handle. Gently peel the eggs, being careful not to tear the whites.
3. Halve the Eggs: Slice the hard-boiled eggs in half lengthwise.
4. Remove the Yolks: Gently scoop out the yolks and place them in a medium bowl.
5. Mash the Yolks: Mash the yolks with a fork until they are smooth.
6. Add Ingredients: Add the mayonnaise, crumbled bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, and black pepper to the bowl with the mashed yolks.
7. Mix Well: Mix all the ingredients together until everything is well combined and the mixture is creamy.
8. Fill the Egg Whites: Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the egg white halves. You can use a spoon for a rustic look or a piping bag for a more elegant presentation.
9. Garnish: Sprinkle the tops of the deviled eggs with paprika for garnish.
10. Chill and Serve: Cover the deviled eggs and chill them in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
