2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon sugar

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup milk

1/4 cup vegetable oil

1 tablespoon melted butter (optional, for brushing)

1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

3. Pour in the milk and vegetable oil, stirring until a soft dough forms.

4. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently for about 1 minute until smooth.

5. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball.

6. Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart.

7. If desired, brush the tops with melted butter for added flavor and a golden finish.

8. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the tops are lightly golden and the bread sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
